Responsibilities of The State Comptroller
The State Comptroller audits government finances, examining government contracts, reviews the efficiency and performance of various state government programs, and provides audit training to government entities. The State Comptroller has the authority to conduct audits of the executive branch of state government, public institutions of higher education, independent state authorities, local governments, and boards of education.
