New Brunswick Junior C Hockey League - History

History

Dating back to at least the early 1950s, the NBJHL was an elite Maritime league. In 1983, the league was in competition with two local American Hockey League teams and folded.

The NBJBHL was forged from the synergy of five regional New Brunswick Jr. B leagues after the demise of the NBJHL, but it folded in 2003.

In 2003, the league NBJHL was the primary Jr. league in New Brunswick, a Jr. C league. Starting in 2007, the League was allowed to send its top team to the Don Johnson Cup as a Jr. B representative. In 2009, the league failed to send their champion.

In 2009, a group of teams fled the NBJHL to form their own Jr. B league, the New Brunswick Junior B Hockey League, leaving the NBJHL with 6 teams and as a Jr. C League.

In the Summer of 2011, all but Hampton folded. The league ceased operations and the Hurricanes moved up to Junior B.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

Classes struggle, some classes triumph, others are eliminated. Such is history; such is the history of civilization for thousands of years.
    Mao Zedong (1893–1976)

It’s nice to be a part of history but people should get it right. I may not be perfect, but I’m bloody close.
    John Lydon (formerly Johnny Rotten)

He wrote in prison, not a History of the World, like Raleigh, but an American book which I think will live longer than that. I do not know of such words, uttered under such circumstances, and so copiously withal, in Roman or English or any history.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
