The School of Economics was first opened as a branch office of the Fachhochschule Kempten im Allgäu, but has been independent since 1998. The "Fachhochschule Neu-Ulm" is located in the former US-base "Wiley Barracks", expanded into two floors of the newly built "Edison Center" and will be transferred into a new, bigger building which is currently build on the former US-base area, in summer 2008.

Famous quotes containing the words education and, education and/or science:
“Do we honestly believe that hopeless kids growing up under the harsh new rules will turn out to be chaste, studious, responsible adults? On the contrary, by limiting welfare, job training, education and nutritious food, wont we plant the seeds for another bumper crop of out-of-wedlock moms, deadbeat dads and worse?”
—Richard B. Stolley (20th century)
“As long as learning is connected with earning, as long as certain jobs can only be reached through exams, so long must we take this examination system seriously. If another ladder to employment was contrived, much so-called education would disappear, and no one would be a penny the stupider.”
—E.M. (Edward Morgan)
“If you have science and art,
You also have religion;
But if you dont have them,
You better have religion.”
—Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (17491832)
