Early Years

Castillo was born in the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí, where his father, a Uruguayan professional footballer, played for San Luis. The family moved to South America while Castillo was still a small child. He started playing for club Danubio in the youth team. He went on trial with Manchester United of England's Premier League, but Castillo failed to obtain a work permit and the door to join the club was closed.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or years:

world. More often it is a noisy, busy, crowded place where language grows, and social skills develop, and where perseverance and attention-span expand.
James L. Hymes, Jr. (20th century)

    “A quarter of a century”
    Or “thirty years back”
    About my own life.
    Philip Larkin (1922–1986)
