Natural Hybrids
A rosette plant (left) and a lower pitcher (right) of N. izumiae × N. jacquelineaeIn the wild, N. jacquelineae often occurs sympatrically with N. izumiae. It is thus not surprising that it occasionally hybridises with this species. Pitchers of N. izumiae × N. jacquelineae are reddish in colour and are usually dominated by characteristics of N. jacquelineae.
Specimens of a putative natural cross between N. dubia and N. jacquelineae have also been recorded.

Famous quotes containing the word natural:
“Whenever there are in any country uncultivated lands and unemployed poor, it is clear that the laws of property have been so far extended as to violate natural right. The earth is given as a common stock for man to labor and live on.... The small landowners are the most precious part of a state.”
—Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
