Neera Shastri

Neera Shastri is a member of national executive of Bharatiya Janata Party and a noted woman activist. She was a member of National Commission of Backward Castes. She is the youngest daughter- in-law of Lal Bahadur Shastri, the former prime minister of India. Taking forward the illustrious political legacy of her father-in-law, Mrs Neera Shastri joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1993. Armed with a tremendous sense of social responsibility, she also brought to the party her extensive experience of the corporate world as a senior executive with the TATA STEEL company.

In her sixteen-year long and fruitful association with the party at the national and Delhi state level, she has displayed tireless dedication to the cause of promoting the welfare of the people. Her aim is to make Delhi self-reliant and sovereign in all fields: education, health, housing, transport, cleanliness, power, water, justice, roads, law and order, women empowerment, human dignity, values and security.
