Nature and Youth Sweden (Swedish: Fältbiologerna, literally "The Field Biologists") is a Swedish organisation for youth interested in nature studies and environmental protection associated with the SNF and SSNC. The organisation has around 3,000 members in the ages 6–25 all over Sweden. Leaders sometimes encourage young members to avoid factory farmed food, and young members have been involved in protests. The organisation has published important texts on topics such as forestry preservation.
Famous quotes containing the words nature and, nature and/or youth:
“My opinion is that we must lend ourselves to others and give ourselves only to ourselves. If my will happened to be prone to mortgage and attach itself, I would not last: I am too tender, both by nature and by practice.”
—Michel de Montaigne (15331592)
“The poets, commonly, is not a loggers path, but a woodmans. The logger and pioneer have preceded him, like John the Baptist; eaten the wild honey, it may be, but the locusts also; banished decaying wood and the spongy mosses which feed on it, and built hearths and humanized Nature for him.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“If youth but knew; if age but could.
Wives in their husbands absences grow subtler,
And daughters sometimes run off with the butler.”
—George Gordon Noel Byron (17881824)
