Harry F. Wentz Studio 01976-04-22April 22, 1976 N of Manzanita off U.S. 101
Manzanita Artist Harry F. Wentz and architect A.E. Doyle designed this 1916 bungalow, which came to be regarded as a prototype of the Northwest Regional style of architecture. Some of the characteristic features of the house include: colors and materials associated with the Northwest, especially timber; low massing with simple wall surfaces; porches with slender wooden supports; and siting to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. The style was later more fully developed by John Yeon and Doyle's colleague Pietro Belluschi.

Famous quotes containing the word current:

Men perceive that equating love and domestic work is a trap. They fear that to get involved with housework would send them hurtling into the bottomless pit of self-sacrifice that is women’s current caring roles.
    Debbie Taylor (20th century)
