Interaction With The Community

The NPA maintains a Facebook page, a LinkedIn page, and a Twitter account. These sites are used to encourage communication and information sharing by the NPA members and the community. Activities on these sites are subject to NPA terms of use:

1. To join this group, you must be one or more of the following: a. Full, individual or affiliate member of the NPA; b. Postdoc* (current or former); c. Graduate student; d. Postdoc office administrator or staff; e. Faculty member, principal investigator, postdoc supervisor, or postdoc mentor; f. Involved in postdoc affairs.

2. Posts on this group must be relevant to postdoc affairs, including but not limited to the following: a. Positive comments and suggestions; b. Questions or request for assistance; c. Announcements of events or programs related to postdocs.

3. Posts that in any way are judged by the NPA administrators to harm the reputation of individuals or groups will be removed. Persons that make such posts may be denied future access to the group.

4. Posts that seriously contradict the official policies of the NPA may be removed, depending on attitude, content, and presentation, as judged by the NPA administrators. For example, a post that offers citations and sources in the interest of starting an open and honest dialogue regarding NPA policy will be fine. A post that is made simply to denigrate the organization or persons within the organization is likely to be removed. Persons that make such posts may be denied future access to the group.

5. Constructive criticism is welcome; for the biggest impact, however, we recommend e-mailing those comments directly to the NPA leadership (contact @nationalpostdoc.org). That way, your comments will be seen for certain by the NPA staff and Board.

6. Posts that are advertisements or spam will be removed.

Famous quotes containing the words interaction with the, interaction with, interaction and/or community:

Recent studies that have investigated maternal satisfaction have found this to be a better prediction of mother-child interaction than work status alone. More important for the overall quality of interaction with their children than simply whether the mother works or not, these studies suggest, is how satisfied the mother is with her role as worker or homemaker. Satisfied women are consistently more warm, involved, playful, stimulating and effective with their children than unsatisfied women.
    Alison Clarke-Stewart (20th century)

The act of putting into your mouth what the earth has grown is perhaps your most direct interaction with the earth.
    Frances Moore Lappé (b. 1944)

Our rural village life was a purifying, uplifting influence that fortified us against the later impacts of urbanization; Church and State, because they were separated and friendly, had spiritual and ethical standards that were mutually enriching; freedom and discipline, individualism and collectivity, nature and nurture in their interaction promised an ever stronger democracy. I have no illusions that those simpler, happier days can be resurrected.
    Agnes E. Meyer (1887–1970)

... no community where more than one-half of the adults are disfranchised and otherwise incapacitated by law and custom, can be free from great vices. Purity is inconsistent with slavery.
    Tennessee Claflin (1846–1923)
