National Committee To Preserve Social Security and Medicare

The National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare (NCPSSM) is a United States advocacy group whose stated goal is to fight to protect Social Security and Medicare. It is led by Max Richtman. It is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501 (c) (4) organization representing millions of members and supporters nationwide. The mission of the NCPSSM is to "protect, preserve, promote, and ensure the financial security, health, and the well being of current and future generations of Americans" which it does with "candidate endorsements, incumbent ratings, grassroots activity, issue advertising, and, of course, campaign contributions." In particular the NCPSSM 's "agenda" is "highlighted" by opposition to Social Security “privatization,” (which would allow people to put part of their Social Security benefits into private investment accounts), and support for prescription drug benefits in Medicare.
