National Center For Research On Earthquake Engineering - Aims

Aims

NCREE is aiming to improve seismic resistant designs for all constructions and to provide feedback to the engineering community through research and development. The Center was built for researchers to collaborate and check their theories by doing various experiments. Their goals are:

- Establish and provide research facilities.

- Develop and improve the seismic engineering database.

- Create and carry-out regulations relating to seismic design codes.

- Co-ordinate and Integrate academic institutes and related industries.

- Introduce, Develop and Educate on seismic-resisting technology.

Famous quotes containing the word aims:

It appears that ordinary men take wives because possession is not possible without marriage, and that ordinary women accept husbands because marriage is not possible without possession; with totally differing aims the method is the same on both sides.
    Thomas Hardy (1840–1928)

All who strive to live for something beyond mere selfish aims find their capacities for doing good very inadequate to their aspirations. They do so much less than they want to do, and so much less than they, at the outset, expected to do, that their lives, viewed retrospectively, inevitably look like failure.
    Lydia M. Child (1802–1880)

Our age is pre-eminently the age of sympathy, as the eighteenth century was the age of reason. Our ideal men and women are they, whose sympathies have had the widest culture, whose aims do not end with self, whose philanthropy, though centrifugal, reaches around the globe.
Frances E. Willard 1839–1898, U.S. president of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union 1879-1891, author, activist. The Woman’s Magazine, pp. 137-40 (January 1887)
