National Academic Games Project

The National Academic Games Project is the oldest continuously running program involving the Academic Games competitions in the United States. The earliest tournaments took place in the late 1960's on the campus of Nova High School in Davie, Florida. Nova was the beta test site for "Propaganda", and other games. Today, participating schools include Hancock county, West Virginia's Weir and Oakglen middle and high schools; South Park, Pennsylvania schools; Suncrest Middle School and Morgantown High School, West Virginia schools; and a couple of Michigan teams.

Famous quotes containing the words national, academic, games and/or project:

Let us waive that agitated national topic, as to whether such multitudes of foreign poor should be landed on our American shores; let us waive it, with the one only thought, that if they can get here, they have God’s right to come.
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

If twins are believed to be less intelligent as a class than single-born children, it is not surprising that many times they are also seen as ripe for social and academic problems in school. No one knows the extent to which these kind of attitudes affect the behavior of multiples in school, and virtually nothing is known from a research point of view about social behavior of twins over the age of six or seven, because this hasn’t been studied either.
    Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)

Whatever games are played with us, we must play no games with ourselves, but deal in our privacy with the last honesty and truth.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The common erotic project of destroying women makes it possible for men to unite into a brotherhood; this project is the only firm and trustworthy groundwork for cooperation among males and all male bonding is based on it.
    Andrea Dworkin (b. 1946)
