History
The Nation Multimedia Group's beginnings go back to 1971, when a new English language newspaper, The Voice of the Nation, was founded in Bangkok by some Thai journalists. The paper's name was eventually shortened to The Nation and the multimedia company grew up around it. Its shares were first listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 1988 and it was registered as a public company in 1993.
It signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Eleven Media Group of Myanmar in May 2012 to form a joint venture in English-language publications.
