The university itself now consists of 24 varied faculties and another two independent ones, including Zhongbei Institute and Taizhou Institute. Within the 24 varied faculties, there is one newly-founded faculty called the Faculty of Teachers' Education of Nanjing Normal University. The university now it has 6 national key disciplines, 3 national key cultivated disciplines, and 7 Jiangsu preponderant disciplines, including history, teaching, philosophy, science, engineering, economy, law, tubes, agriculture, medicine and art etc.
In 2006, the Nanjing Normal University-Jiangsu Institute of Education joint training 4-years undergraduate program was permitted by the Ministry of Education of PRC.Some 2010 graduates, the first session of the joint training program, had received their undergraduate diplomas and Bachelor degrees from Nanjing Normal University, and got their The Teacher Certification from Jiangsu Institute of Education.
