Overview
The 1.5 km (0.93 mi) Nangang Eastern Extension to Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center is currently under construction, with the segment to Nangang already complete. When the Eastern Extension is completed, traveling time from Nangang Software Park to Taipei Main Station will be reduced from 34 minutes to 18 minutes.
Due to Taipei City Hall Station being at the center of the Taipei 101 New Year's festivities, intervals between trains can be reduced to a minimum of 135 seconds, transporting up to 39,000 passengers per hour. This results in an average of about 27 trains per hour on the Nangang Line during peak hours
