Personality
As noted above, due to her sheltered raising, Nana Komatsu is initially a rather childish and self-absorbed person. She relied heavily on Saotome Junko, a high school friend of hers.
When it comes to relationships, Hachi has fallen in (and out of) love many times. The first man she ever slept with was Asano Takashi, who was a lot older than she was. During a chance encounter in Tokyo, she comically warned him not to cheat again. However, like her subsequent exes, she could only forget about him totally after being together with another guy (in this case, Shouji).
Though very capable of great acts of kindness and caring for her friends, and even strangers, Hachi tends to be very self-absorbed at times failing to take into consideration the feelings of others. Though her friends care for her deeply, they sometimes seem to think of her as burdensome as well.

Famous quotes containing the word personality:
“The habit some writers indulge in of perpetual quotation is one it behoves lovers of good literature to protest against, for it is an insidious habit which in the end must cloud the stream of thought, or at least check spontaneity. If it be true that le style cest lhomme, what is likely to happen if lhomme is for ever eking out his own personality with that of some other individual?”
—Dame Ethel Smyth (18581944)
“Talent alone can not make a writer. There must be a man behind the book; a personality which by birth and quality is pledged to the doctrines there set forth, and which exists to see and state things so, and not otherwise; holding things because they are things.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“It is in our interests to let the police and their employers go on believing that the Underground is a conspiracy, because it increases their paranoia and their inability to deal with what is really happening. As long as they look for ringleaders and documents they will miss their mark, which is that proportion of every personality which belongs in the Underground.”
—Germaine Greer (b. 1939)
