MV Ross Revenge - Plans

Plans

During the Summer of 2008 a planning application was lodged with the Council of the London Borough of Bexley to position the vessel next to Erith pier, with the consent of W. M. Morrison who had previously restored the pier as part of a supermarket development. The application was given the case reference 08/07453/FUL and may be inspected on the authority's web site, where representations are invited. The initial intent is to moor the ship there for a six month period, during which time a Restricted Service Licence permitting short range broadcasting might conceivably be sought. The planning application gives no guarantee of public access, but this might be a more practicable proposition at Erith than at the busy international port of Tilbury.

It is worth noting that Bexley has some association with popular music through sometime local residents such as Kate Bush, Max Bygraves, Dorothy Squires and John Paul Jones (musician). Certain Erith tower block(s) have been associated with ad-hoc onshore pirate radio stations since the demise of the offshore variety.

Famous quotes containing the word plans:

In order to become spoiled ... a child has to be able to want things as well as need them. He has to be able to see himself as a being who is separate from everyone else.... A baby is none of these things. He feels a need and he expresses it. He is not intellectually capable of working out involved plans and ideas like “Can I make her give me...?” “If I make enough fuss he will...?” “They let me do ... yesterday and I want to do it again today so I’ll....”
    Penelope Leach (20th century)

When I heard at the close of the day how my name had been receiv’d
with plaudits in the capitol, still it was not a happy night for me
    that follow’d,
And else when I carous’d, or when my plans were accomplish’d,
    still I was not happy,
But the day when I rose at dawn from the bed of perfect health,
refresh’d, singing, inhaling the ripe breath of autumn,
    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)

The fellow parent you are scared to call is as appalled by the clique’s plans as you are. . . . The other parent is as happy to hear from you as you would be to hear from him.
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)
