Musical Fidelity is a low volume producer of high-end audio equipment. Founded in the United Kingdom in 1982, they are known for the unusual industrial design applied to their products.
Lead by clarinetist Antony Michaelson, who also founded the "Musical Fidelity" record label, the company has a stated mission of producing "state-of-the-art high-end sound at a modest price". —Anonymous. Popular saying.
Dating from World War Iwhen it was used by U.S. soldiersor before, the saying was associated with nightclub hostess Texas Quinan in the 1920s. It was the title of a song recorded by Sophie Tucker in 1927, and of a Cole Porter musical in 1929.
“The genius of American culture and its integrity comes from fidelity to the light. Plain as day, we say. Happy as the day is long. Early to bed, early to rise. American virtues are daylight virtues: honesty, integrity, plain speech. We say yes when we mean yes and no when we mean no, and all else comes from the evil one. America presumes innocence and even the right to happiness.”
—Richard Rodriguez (b. 1944)
