During the 1980s & 1990s, metro Detroit rock bands that had minor to major attention and/or critical acclaim include The Gories, The White Stripes, The Dirtbombs, The Von Bondies, The Paybacks, The Rockets, Laughing Hyenas, The Hentchmen, Electric Six, Sponge, Big Chief, The Colors, The Orange Roughies, Godzuki, The Volebeats, Goober and the Peas, Charm Farm, Speedball, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Adrenalin, bent lucy, Howling Diablos, DC Drive, His Name Is Alive, Brendan Benson, Immigrant Suns, Demolition Dollrods, Kid Rock, The Sights, Rocket 455, American Mars, and ska-punk band The Suicide Machines and throughout the 2000s like Huck Johns on Capitol and Ty Stone on Atlantic.
