On November 16, 2011 it was announced that pre-production had begun on an independently produced adaptation of Music from "The Elder". British author/musician Seb Hunter said that he was beginning to write a screenplay based upon Gene Simmons’ original concept and is producing the film himself alongside friend and colleague Owen Oakeshott. To finance the film, Hunter has asked for donations through The Elder official site. It is approximated that the overall budget for the film will be £30,000. Mentorn Media have also begun work on a documentary titled, Exhuming "The Elder" which follows the independent filmmakers behind the scenes as they attempt to bring The Elder concept to fruition.

Famous quotes containing the words independent, film and/or project:

The best way of learning to be an independent sovereign state is to be an independent sovereign state.
    Kwame Nkrumah (1900–1972)

All the old supports going, gone, this man reaches out a hand to steady himself on a ledge of rough brick that is warm in the sun: his hand feeds him messages of solidity, but his mind messages of destruction, for this breathing substance, made of earth, will be a dance of atoms, he knows it, his intelligence tells him so: there will soon be war, he is in the middle of war, where he stands will be a waste, mounds of rubble, and this solid earthy substance will be a film of dust on ruins.
    Doris Lessing (b. 1919)

The trenchant editorials plus the keen rivalry natural to extremely partisan papers made it necessary for the editors to be expert pugilists and duelists as well as journalists. An editor made no assertion that he could not defend with fists or firearms.
