Development
MuseScore is free and open-source, and thus, any developer is free to view, edit and submit code to the project. Werner Schweer, Nicolas Froment and Thomas Bonte are the full-time and lead developers of the project, with a wider community also contributing.
The development of MuseScore takes place on GitHub so as to host the code and manage the collaboration of developers. GitHub is based on Git, a revision control suite initially designed for Linux kernel development. Anyone can fork the code of the program, make modifications, and submit them for review. Unstable builds created during development are available for download to be tested by volunteers. Those in turn post the problems found in an issue tracker. Anyone can also submit requests for new features. A large amount of the discussions concerning the development takes place on the MuseScore forums.
MuseScore is written mainly in C++. It fully supports both 32-bit and 64-bit platforms, and the graphical user interface makes use of the cross-platform Qt toolkit.

Famous quotes containing the word development:
“I do seriously believe that if we can measure among the States the benefits resulting from the preservation of the Union, the rebellious States have the larger share. It destroyed an institution that was their destruction. It opened the way for a commercial life that, if they will only embrace it and face the light, means to them a development that shall rival the best attainments of the greatest of our States.”
—Benjamin Harrison (18331901)
“Women, because of their colonial relationship to men, have to fight for their own independence. This fight for our own independence will lead to the growth and development of the revolutionary movement in this country. Only the independent woman can be truly effective in the larger revolutionary struggle.”
—Womens Liberation Workshop, Students for a Democratic Society, Radical political/social activist organization. Liberation of Women, in New Left Notes (July 10, 1967)
“Sleep hath its own world,
And a wide realm of wild reality.
And dreams in their development have breath,
And tears, and tortures, and the touch of joy.”
—George Gordon Noel Byron (17881824)
