Mummy (Dungeons & Dragons) - Publication History

Publication History

The mummy was included in earliest Dungeons and Dragons boxed games as well as the original Monster Manual written by Gary Gygax and published in 1977. Since then, the mummy has remained a fixture of the Dungeons & Dragons universe and has been represented in each subsequent edition.

Later versions of the game have presented mummy templates which can be applied to various creatures so that a Dungeon Master can easily create, for example goblin mummies, hydra mummies, drider mummies, or whatever.

Famous quotes containing the words publication and/or history:

I would rather have as my patron a host of anonymous citizens digging into their own pockets for the price of a book or a magazine than a small body of enlightened and responsible men administering public funds. I would rather chance my personal vision of truth striking home here and there in the chaos of publication that exists than attempt to filter it through a few sets of official, honorably public-spirited scruples.
    John Updike (b. 1932)

The history of the past is but one long struggle upward to equality.
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902)
