Multidimensional Organization - The New Generation of Workers

The New Generation of Workers

Multidimensional organizations are an answer to the new generation of workers. The new form caters especially to the hacker generation and the gamer generation. However, the older generation of workers, especially those trained and selected to work in the multi-unit organization, may experience severe difficulties with this new organization form.

The multidimensional organization was discussed as early as the 1970s. It required the combination of the fall of costs of information, the development of dynamic multidimensional markets, and a new generation of workers and managers, to create this paradigm shift in organization forms.

Famous quotes containing the words the new, generation and/or workers:

The new always happens against the overwhelming odds of statistical laws and their probability, which for all practical, everyday purposes amounts to certainty; the new therefore always appears in the guise of a miracle.
    Hannah Arendt (1906–1975)

There are in every generation those who shrink from the ultimate sacrifice, but there are in every generation those who make it with joy and laughter and these are the salt of the generations.
    Patrick Henry Pearse (1879–1916)

The industrial world would be a more peaceful place if workers were called in as collaborators in the process of establishing standards and defining shop practices, matters which surely affect their interests and well-being fully as much as they affect those of employers and consumers.
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)
