Multi-Sport Field - Unfinished

Unfinished

The field has been awaiting further construction since 2005, when work was halted on completing permanent bleachers and other facilities. As a result, it remains the smallest stadium in Division I football.

Several of the school athletics teams play home games there, including the Hoyas football team, the men's and women's lacrosse teams, and the Georgetown University Rugby Football Club. The professional Washington Bayhawks of Major League Lacrosse used the field for most of their games during the 2007 season. Lights were installed on the field in early 2009. The surface is artificial, made of FieldTurf.

Famous quotes containing the word unfinished:

A proper autobiography is a death-bed confession. A true man finds so much work to do that he has no time to contemplate his yesterdays; for to-day and to-morrow are here, with their impatient tasks. The world is so busy, too, that it cannot afford to study any man’s unfinished work; for the end may prove it a failure, and the world needs masterpieces.
    Mary Antin (1881–1949)

The tops of mountains are among the unfinished parts of the globe, whither it is a slight insult to the gods to climb and pry into their secrets, and try their effect on our humanity. Only daring and insolent men, perchance, go there. Simple races, as savages, do not climb mountains,—their tops are sacred and mysterious tracts never visited by them. Pomola is always angry with those who climb the summit of Ktaadn.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

A person taking stock in middle age is like an artist or composer looking at an unfinished work; but whereas the composer and the painter can erase some of their past efforts, we cannot. We are stuck with what we have lived through. The trick is to finish it with a sense of design and a flourish rather than to patch up the holes or merely to add new patches to it.
    Harry S. Broudy (b. 1905)
