MSNBC Doc Block

MSNBC Doc Block is a three-hour block of documentary programming airing Monday-Friday from 11 pm to 2 am Eastern time on MSNBC. It replaced Rita Cosby: Live & Direct and The Situation with Tucker Carlson. The Situation was renamed Tucker and was moved to the slots that were vacated by The Abrams Report (4 pm and 6 pm) before it too was cancelled.

During the months preceding the 2008 US Presidential election, the Doc Block was relegated to weekend airings and replaced on weeknights by repeats of The Rachel Maddow Show, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, and Race for the White House.

It now only airs Fridays from midnight to 5 am, Saturdays from 2 pm to 5 am, and Sundays from 3 pm to 5 am.

Famous quotes containing the words doc and/or block:

    The 5307th has collapsed. From a medical viewpoint, they’re finished as a fighting unit.... I have never seen human beings in such condition. They’re drained, physically and psychologically drained. I’m not tagging them for specific ailments. I’m simply marking every man in the outfit A.O.E.—accumulation of everything.
    Samuel Fuller, U.S. screenwriter, and Milton Sperling. Samuel Fuller. Doc (Andrew Duggan)

    Dug from the tomb of taste-refining time,
    Each form is exquisite, each block sublime.
    Or good, or bad,—disfigur’d, or deprav’d,—
    All art, is at its resurrection sav’d;
    All crown’d with glory in the critic’s heav’n,
    Each merit magnified, each fault forgiven.
    Martin Archer, Sir Shee (1769–1850)
