Famous quotes containing the word shelter:

We shelter children for a time; we live side by side with men; and that is all. We owe them nothing, and are owed nothing. I think we owe our friends more, especially our female friends.
    Fay Weldon (b. 1933)

You will break the lie of men’s thoughts,
    and cherish and shelter us.
    Hilda Doolittle (1886–1961)

O wert thou in the cauld blast,
On yonder lea, on yonder lea,
My plaidie to the angry airt,
I’d shelter thee, I’d shelter thee.
    Robert Burns (1759–1796)
