Mount Union Area School District - Extracurriculars

Extracurriculars

The district offers a variety of clubs, activities and sports. Eligibility to participate is set by school board policies. The policy specifies that all students in Grades 9 through 12 must be passing five subjects at all times and two of those subjects must be core courses (math, English, science and social studies). In the event that a student, most likely a senior, is enrolled in three or less core subject areas, he/she will be required to be passing at least one core subject area to be eligible for athletic activities. All students in Grades 7 through 8 must maintain a passing grade in four full credit classes with two of those classes being core subject areas.

By Pennsylvania law, all K-12 students in the district, including those who attend a private nonpublic school, cyber charter school, charter school and those homeschooled, are eligible to participate in the extracurricular programs including all athletics. They must meet the same eligibility rules as the students enrolled in the district's schools.
