The Umbrella License
The MPLC issues the Umbrella License, a public performance license that allows organizations, corporations, associations, and other groups to show legally obtained motion pictures and other programs that are intended for personal, private, home use only, in locations outside of the home. The Umbrella License is issued to non-theatrical venues for non-commercial use.

Famous quotes containing the words umbrella and/or license:
“There are certain thingsas, a spider, a ghost,
The income-tax, gout, an umbrella for three
That I hate, but the thing that I hate the most
Is a thing they call the Sea.”
—Lewis Carroll [Charles Lutwidge Dodgson] (18321898)
“Surely the fates are forever kind, though Natures laws are more immutable than any despots, yet to mans daily life they rarely seem rigid, but permit him to relax with license in summer weather. He is not harshly reminded of the things he may not do.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
