Mosaic, with the support of SSHRC and the University of Manitoba, has hosted the following conferences:

  • The Photograph Conference - An international interdisciplinary conference on "the photograph"
  • Following Derrida: Legacies - A tribute to Jacques Derrida, a celebration of his work, an exploration of his legacy.

The conference will engage Freud’s work as it continues to inform and provoke research and discussion across the disciplines (e.g., architecture, film, history, literature, philosophy, religion, science), and particularly, as it opens through and “after Derrida.” Topics to be considered include: psychoanalysis and the literary text, temporality, space, technics, responsibility, animality, embodiment, memory, dream, writing, the uncanny, life, death, desire, repetition, law, sovereignty, sexuality, silence, mourning, testimony, the unconscious, repression, identity, family. The conference includes over one hundred speakers and presenters, including scholars and graduate students, from around the world. This conference is made possible with the support of SSHRC and the University of Manitoba

Registration is available through the conference website. The registration fee will be reduced to $80.00* until August 15, 2010, after which the fee will be $95.00. The regular conference registration fee will be waived for students (presenters and attendees). However, all students *must* register for the conference in order to attend. All fees will be non-refundable after September 1, 2010.
