Mortal Love

Mortal Love was a Norwegian metal band that was signed to Massacre Records. Their sound made combined use of soprano and tenor vocals, whilst placing emphasis on a consistent rhythm section with heavy guitars, piano and synthesizer melodies. Their first three releases, which lyrically dealt with love and failed relationships, were composed as a trilogy, as can be observed from combining the titles of the albums (All the Beauty, I Have Lost and Forever Will Be Gone). The band released the final album of the trilogy on 22 September 2006. On July 2011, the band announced that they were going to take indefinite hiatus.

On November 21, 2010, the band posted on their website that Massacre Records declined to release their new album as it was "less guitar-heavy." As the album has not officially been recorded, the band explained that they were exploring their options, possibly having the record be a digital-only product. As of 2012-05-11, their Official website is no longer active.

Famous quotes containing the words mortal and/or love:

Religion means goal and way, politics implies end and means. The political end is recognizable by the fact that it may be attained—in success—and its attainment is historically recorded. The religious goal remains, even in man’s highest experiences, that which simply provides direction on the mortal way; it never enters into historical consummation.
    Martin Buber (1878–1965)

Only where love and need are one,
And the work is play for mortal stakes,
Is the deed every really done
For Heaven and the future’s sakes.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
