Morris S. Arnold
Morris Sheppard "Buzz" Arnold (born 1941) is a senior-status jurist of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. A Republican, he was appointed to the appeals court by U.S. President George Herbert Walker Bush. His tenure began on June 1, 1992. For his first twelve years, until 2004, he served on the court alongside his older brother, Richard S. Arnold, a Democrat appointed by President Jimmy Carter. Richard Arnold died of an infection while he was afflicted with long-term lymphoma. Because of new federal nepotism rules, two brothers are unlikely to serve again simultaneously on the same federal court in the future.

Famous quotes containing the words morris and/or arnold:
“The winds on the wold
And the night is a-cold,
And Thames runs chill
Twixt mead and hill.
But kind and dear
Is the old house here
And my heart is warm
Midst winters harm.”
—William Morris (18341896)
“No, no thou hast not felt the lapse of hours!
For what wears out the life of mortal men?
Tis that from change to change their being rolls;
Tis that repeated shocks, again, again,
Exhaust the energy of strongest souls
And numb the elastic powers.”
—Matthew Arnold (18221888)
