Montague "Monty" Guild Jr. (b.1942) is the founder and CEO of Guild Investment Management located in Los Angeles, California. He was an analyst at a bank and hedge fund from 1968 to 1970. In 1971, Monty Guild Jr. founded Guild Investment Management in Southern California. He holds a B.A. in Economics from University of California and an MBA with honors from California State University.
Guild was an early devotee of Transcendental Meditation. He served as president and chairman of the board of the Maharishi Heaven on Earth Development Corp., a company devoted to developing 50 communities of meditators, called "ideal villages", in the US and Canada. In 1996, he placed 95th on a list of contributors to US political parties over the prior year, on account of the $171,000 he gave to the Natural Law Party. He announced in 2003 that he was bankrolling the construction of a proposed "Peace Palace" in Los Angeles.
