Gile is a neighborhood of Montreal which was once its own unincorporated community. The community originally developed as a sawmill village. Even though it is part of Montreal, Gile has its own post office with ZIP code: 54525. Gile is located .75 miles (1.21 km) to the east-southeast of Montreal, along the Gile Flowage, a shallow lake formed by a dam on the West Fork of the Montreal River.
