Montana Highway 1
Montana State Highway 1 (MT 1) is a state highway located in southwestern Montana, extending west and north from Opportunity to Drummond. Midway between these two points is the Grant-Kohrs Ranch, an historic site. Both the beginning and endpoints of the road are on Interstate 90. It is known as the Pintler Scenic Route and receives a lot of tourist travel every year to visit the historic mining towns of Philipsburg and Granite and to visit the Georgetown Lake and Discovery Ski Basin recreation areas.
This road was formerly designated as U.S. Highway 10 Alternate (US 10 ALT). It received its current number after US 10 was decommissioned through the area in 1986.
