Monster Jam World Finals Records & History - Champions

Champions

In 2000, sixteen trucks went to Las Vegas, Nevada and two won the racing and freestyle championships. Then in 2001, sixteen more trucks went to Vegas, but this time only one won the championships, and he won them both. In the 2002 edition sixteen more arrived and the man who won it in 2001 won it once again. Then in 2003 two brand new champions arose above sixteen more trucks. And in 2004 four trucks won against sixteen of the biggest superstars in Monster Jam. In 2005 the field went to twenty and two new champions won it. 2006, two trucks won against twenty-four trucks one of the trucks that one freestyle last year went to win the racing championship this year. Then the 2007 championship, two brand new trucks won the championship. In 2008 the racing champion was the same as last year but in freestyle a new champion was made and he was the youngest driver to win. In 2009 the same person won the racing as in 2000,2001, and 2003 and in freestyle another new champion arose from the 24 truck field. In 2010 the racing was the racing time, the greatest rivalry in motorsport history was renewed in the championship race and Dennis Anderson went to win the race. In the freestyle portion the "greatest driver never to win a freestyle title"-Scott Douglass finally won a freestyle championship. In 2011 the 24 trucks came back to Las Vegas and they put on a show. In racing it was Tom Meents winning the championship race for the 5th time, then in freestyle it was Jim Koehler winning the freestyle for the second time. Him and Madusa are the only two people to win more than one title other than Tom Meents and Dennis Anderson. Also that year the only two people that have been to every world finals were the two people that won titles that year. For 2012 it's a mystery. Will there be more than 24 trucks this year, will a new person win the racing or freestyle, or will it be someone winning a title once again. All this will be found out on March 23–24, 2012. So far there are 12 people that has won one of the world titles. And there are 26 championships. The show as been in Las Vegas, Nevada each year, and in Sam Boyd Stadium.

Famous quotes containing the word champions:

While the Governor, and the Mayor, and countless officers of the Commonwealth are at large, the champions of liberty are imprisoned.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

Did all the lets and bars appear
To every just or larger end,
Whence should come the trust and cheer?
Youth must its ignorant impulse lend—
Age finds place in the rear.
All wars are boyish, and are fought by boys,
The champions and enthusiasts of the state:
    Herman Melville (1819–1891)

Myths and legends die hard in America. We love them for the extra dimension they provide, the illusion of near-infinite possibility to erase the narrow confines of most men’s reality. Weird heroes and mould-breaking champions exist as living proof to those who need it that the tyranny of “the rat race” is not yet final.
    Hunter S. Thompson (b. 1939)
