Monogram Pictures - Interstate/Allied Artists Television

Interstate/Allied Artists Television

Interstate Television Corporation was the television arm of Monogram/Allied Artists. It mainly syndicated the company's film library, along with the Hal Roach-produced Our Gang shorts (retitled The Little Rascals, later distributed by King World Productions, now CBS Television Distribution).

In later years it became Allied Artists Television after it became safe for film studios to show their names on television.

After Allied Artists' television library was sold to Lorimar's TV production and distribution arms, Lorimar was acquired by Warner Bros. Television who now administer the library.

Famous quotes containing the words interstate, allied, artists and/or television:

At bottom, I mean profoundly at bottom, the FBI has nothing to do with Communism, it has nothing to do with catching criminals, it has nothing to do with the Mafia, the syndicate, it has nothing to do with trust-busting, it has nothing to do with interstate commerce, it has nothing to do with anything but serving as a church for the mediocre. A high church for the true mediocre.
    Norman Mailer (b. 1923)

A great number of the disappointments and mishaps of the troubled world are the direct result of literature and the allied arts. It is our belief that no human being who devotes his life and energy to the manufacture of fantasies can be anything but fundamentally inadequate
    Christopher Hampton (b. 1946)

The proper aim of education is to promote significant learning. Significant learning entails development. Development means successively asking broader and deeper questions of the relationship between oneself and the world. This is as true for first graders as graduate students, for fledging artists as graying accountants.
    Laurent A. Daloz (20th century)

It is not heroin or cocaine that makes one an addict, it is the need to escape from a harsh reality. There are more television addicts, more baseball and football addicts, more movie addicts, and certainly more alcohol addicts in this country than there are narcotics addicts.
    Shirley Chisholm (b. 1924)
