Monica May (stage Actress)

Monica May (born in Illinois) is primarily a serious stage actress who debuted on Broadway in Tennessee Williams' Sweet Bird of Youth with Paul Newman and Geraldine Page and later appeared in William Inge's Natural Affection with Kim Stanley, "How to Make a Man", and "Who Was That Lady", among many other plays and television programs, mostly in the 1960s. She studied at Sullins College in Virginia and Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Ms. May was a respected acting teacher at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for seven years, where she was Mr. Strasberg's directing assistant. Monica May founded the Children's Acting Academy in New York City, and is still a member of Actors Equity Association, the professional stage actors union. She is currently living in Florida.
