Monash University Regiment

The Monash University Regiment is an officer training regiment of the Australian Army, based in Victoria near Monash University. MONUR is a direct command training unit of the 4th Brigade and as part of the 2nd Division, it is responsible for training of ARes officer cadets (OCDTs) for graduation as Lieutenants.

The regiment is named in honour of General Sir John Monash, one of Australia's most famous soldiers and arguably one of the most effective commanders on the Western Front during World War I.

The current Commanding Officer is Lieutenant Colonel Margaret Sorial, and the Honorary Colonel is Brigadier John Deighton AM, MC who succeeded Major General Jim Hughes AO, DSO, MC.
