Both the prosecutors and Ravi have filed separate appeals. It is expected to be at least mid-2014 before any appeal will be heard. On June 18, 2012, Ravi was released from jail after 20 days of his sentence. Federal immigration authorities have said that Ravi will not be deported to India.
