The Modern Transportation Museum (交通科学博物館, Kōtsū Kagaku Hakubutsukan?) is the corporate museum of the West Japan Railway Company (JR West) in Osaka, Japan. It opened in 1962, next to Bentencho Station on the Osaka Loop Line. The collection includes Steam locomotives, electric locomotives, diesel locomotives, a prototype of a magnetic levitation train, and the original engine of Messerschmitt Me 163.
Famous quotes containing the words modern and/or museum:
“The real accomplishment of modern science and technology consists in taking ordinary men, informing them narrowly and deeply and then, through appropriate organization, arranging to have their knowledge combined with that of other specialized but equally ordinary men. This dispenses with the need for genius. The resulting performance, though less inspiring, is far more predictable.”
—John Kenneth Galbraith (b. 1908)
“Life is in the mouth; death is in the mouth.”
