Fitness modelling focuses on displaying an athletic physique. Fitness models usually have the defined muscles of bodybuilders, but with less emphasis on muscle size in favor of lean muscle tone. Their body weight is usually similar to (or heavier than) fashion models, but they have a lower body fat percentage owing to increased muscle mass and reduced fat mass. Fitnes models tend to be commercial fashion models or more successful commercial print models (lifestyle models). However, there are a lot of athletes who fitness model. There are several agencies in large modelling markets such as New York, London, Germany that have fitness modelling agencies. while there is a large market for these models, most of these agencies are a secondary agency to these models who typical earn their money as commercial models.

Famous quotes containing the words fitness and/or models:

... it is use, and use alone, which leads one of us, tolerably trained to recognize any criterion of grace or any sense of the fitness of things, to tolerate ... the styles of dress to which we are more or less conforming every day of our lives. Fifty years hence they will seem to us as uncultivated as the nose-rings of the Hottentot seem today.
    Elizabeth Stuart Phelps (1844–1911)

French rhetorical models are too narrow for the English tradition. Most pernicious of French imports is the notion that there is no person behind a text. Is there anything more affected, aggressive, and relentlessly concrete than a Parisan intellectual behind his/her turgid text? The Parisian is a provincial when he pretends to speak for the universe.
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)
