Mo Xuanqing

Mo Xuanqing (Chinese: 莫宣卿; pinyin: Mò Xuānqīng, August 17, 834) born in Zhaoqing, Guangdong, was the youngest Number One scholar (in the imperial examination) from Tang Dynasty, in Chinese History. He was known as a talented person from the age of 12. In 851, at the age of 17, he was also the first youngest Number One Scholar (in the imperial examination) in Chinese history since Sui Dynasty and the first Number One Scholar in Lingnan.

In mid 2006, descendants of Mo's came from all over China; especially from Hunan, Guangxi and Guangdong Province, locol's around 15.4 million people, to hold a memorial day with series events for the "1171 anniversary of Mo Xueqing Scholar Celebrations".
