Mississauga Model Flying Club

The MMFC, or Mississauga Model Flying Club is a remote controlled airplane and helicopter flying club located in Mississauga, Ontario. It started in 1968, and is operational to this day. The field is located at highway 401 and Mississauga road, in Totoredaca Park. It shares the land with a dog park.

Glow fuel is used in most of the models. There are also battery powered and jet aircraft. They operate on any of the Radio frequency displayed on the Canadian frequency chart mainly 72 mHz and 2.4 GHz spread spectrum. The club mainly flies Radio-controlled aircraft, including helicopters and airplanes. Recently, there has been a track added for radio controlled cars. MMFC now has a brand new website. MMFC is part of the Model Aeronautics Association of Canada, and offers the wings program for teaching people how to fly.

Famous quotes containing the words model, flying and/or club:

The striking point about our model family is not simply the compete-compete, consume-consume style of life it urges us to follow.... The striking point, in the face of all the propaganda, is how few Americans actually live this way.
    Louise Kapp Howe (b. 1934)

What the hell is nostalgia doing in a science-fiction film? With the whole universe and all the future to play in, Lucas took his marvelous toys and crawled under the fringed cloth on the parlor table, back into a nice safe hideyhole, along with Flash Gordon and the Cowardly Lion and Luck Skywalker and the Flying Aces and the Hitler Jugend. If there’s a message there, I don’t think I want to hear it.
    Ursula K. Le Guin (b. 1929)

The creation of “strong-minded” women, so-called, is due to the individualism of men, to the modern selfish and speculative spirit which absorbs everything within itself and leaves women nothing but self-assertion for their protection and support.
