Managers
There have been thirty permanent and eleven caretaker managers since the appointment of the club's first professional manager, Bert Lipsham on 4 May 1911. From 1890 to 1910, Millwall directors Kidd, Stopher and Saunders were honourary managers, also working under the title of club secretary. Bob Hunter is Millwall's longest serving manager, having stayed at the helm for fifteen years. Prior to becoming manager, he was the club's trainer for twenty-one years. He died in office in 1933, having served at the club for a total of thirty-six years. Steve Claridge holds the shortest tenure at the club, having been in charge for a period of thirty-six days without ever taking charge of a first-team game. Every Millwall manager has come from within the British Isles. Current manager Kenny Jackett is the Lions fourth longest serving manager, he is the longest serving manager in the Football League Championship and seventh longest serving manager in English League football.

“We also have to make sure our children know the history of women. Tell them the rotten truth: It wasnt always possible for women to become doctors or managers or insurance people. Let them be armed with a true picture of the way we want it to be.”
