Millionaire (song)

"Millionaire" is a song by American R&B singer–songwriter Kelis, featuring American singer–rapper André 3000—half of the hip hop duo OutKast. Written by Kelis and André 3000 who also served as the producer, the song was released in October 2004 as the third single from Kelis' third studio album, Tasty (2003).

Like Kelis' previous hit "Trick Me", it was released across the world, but not in the U.S. The track is built over an electro-space-funky R&B beat, derived from a sample of Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick's 1985 song "La Di Da Di".

It became her third consecutive top three hit in the United Kingdom, and it managed to sell a final number 65,000 copies there.

The video, directed by Giuseppe Capotondi, does not feature Kelis or André 3000, and it instead has children playing the roles of young Kelis and André.

Famous quotes containing the word millionaire:

Poverty demoralizes. A man in debt is so far a slave; and Wall-street thinks it easy for a millionaire to be a man of his word, a man of honor, but, that, in failing circumstances, no man can be relied on to keep his integrity.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
