Midtown Plaza Mall

Midtown Plaza Mall- A 2-storey Shopping Mall located at Nunez Extension corner Gov. Camins Avenue in Zamboanga City, Philippines. Constructed in 2001, this mall is considered as one of the smallest malls in the Philippines by floor area. Unlike most of the malls, this has no escalator, only stairs are used. This may make the mall the most convenient and neighborhood shopping mall in the city. Stores include the KFC restaurant (the 1st branch in the city opened on December 15, 2004), La Tienda, Coffee Mix, Z-Beryani A Taste of Persian Cuisine, Video Centrum, Biz-net, and Gigabyte Computer Center.

Plaza Fair, a Manila-based department store, had opened its branch in this shopping center, making it the 2nd Plaza Fair Department Store in Mindanao. However, it was only two years when this branch was closed due to lack of shoppers' interest (same as other now-active branches in the Philippines) and the mall's location is rather less visited than other malls located in the city's business district.

Shakey's Pizza is planning to open again for the third time a branch in Zamboanga and at this mall will be its location. The pizza chain had already opened its branches in Alta Mall and former Shoppers' Mart building (now occupied by Expression Telecom Center), but both stores are closed.

Famous quotes containing the word mall:

Finishing schools in the fifties were a good place to store girls for a few years before marrying them off, a satisfactory rest stop between college weekends spent husband hunting. It was a haven for those of us adept at styling each other’s hair, playing canasta, and chain smoking Pall Mall extra-long cigarettes.
