History
MidAmerican Energy was formed in 1995 by the merger of the Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Company with Midwest Resources. Midwest Resources in turn, was formed in 1992 by the merger of Iowa Power and Iowa Public Service Company. Prior to 1988, Iowa Power was known as Iowa Power and Light.
