Mick Head - Solo Career

Solo Career

After touring for a while with childhood heroes Love, Head went on to form Michael Head & The Strands, again with brother John on guitar. In 1997 they released the critically acclaimed album The Magical World of The Strands. 2008 was a relatively quiet one for Mick, started with Shack being part of "Liverpool, The Musical", which was part of the European City of Culture celebrations and ended with another new venture, Micheal Head & The Red Elastic Band.

Famous quotes containing the words solo and/or career:

All mothers need instruction, nurturing, and an understanding mentor after the birth of a baby, but in this age of fast foods, fast tracks, and fast lanes, it doesn’t always happen. While we live in a society that provides recognition for just about every life event—from baptisms to bar mitzvahs, from wedding vows to funeral rites—the entry into parenting seems to be a solo flight, with nothing and no one to mark formally the new mom’s entry into motherhood.
    Sally Placksin (20th century)

Work-family conflicts—the trade-offs of your money or your life, your job or your child—would not be forced upon women with such sanguine disregard if men experienced the same career stalls caused by the-buck-stops-here responsibility for children.
    Letty Cottin Pogrebin (20th century)
