University Apartments
Michigan State owns and operates two apartment complexes, Spartan Village and Cherry Lane. A third complex, University Village, underwent recent redevelopment. When it reopened in August 2007, it offered new apartment-style housing for upper-level undergrads. The University owns in total 1,800 one- and two-bedroom apartments. Beginning in the Summer of 2011, Michigan State University will begin demolition of the Cherry Lane and Faculty Brick Apartments with completion scheduled for November 2011. No redevelopment plans have decided yet. University Village is apart of the Brody Neighborhood as well.

Famous quotes containing the word university:
“The great problem of American life [is] the riddle of authority: the difficulty of finding a way, within a liberal and individualistic social order, of living in harmonious and consecrated submission to something larger than oneself.... A yearning for self-transcendence and submission to authority [is] as deeply rooted as the lure of individual liberation.”
—Wilfred M. McClay, educator, author. The Masterless: Self and Society in Modern America, p. 4, University of North Carolina Press (1994)
