Current Projects

Metra Theatre's current production is an adaptation of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters performed on a boat. The first run took place during a week in November, 2008 along the Regent's Canal in Camden. Metra Theatre then embarked on a national tour of '3 Sisters' in 2009, performing as part of Bath Fringe Festival in May, Blysh Festival (in association with the Wales Millennium Centre) in July, and made their debut at Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. In July 2010, they appeared as Olga, Masha and Irina at The Secret Garden Party. They continue the tour with dates in London in August, and The Lowry in Manchester in September.

Ortorious: Magnificent English Speeches, a radio play written by Joe Cook is currently in post production.

Famous quotes containing the words current and/or projects:

It is a quite remarkable fact that the great religions of the most civilized peoples are more deeply fraught with sadness than the simpler beliefs of earlier societies. This certainly does not mean that the current of pessimism is eventually to submerge the other, but it proves that it does not lose ground and that it does not seem destined to disappear.
    Emile Durkheim (1858–1917)

But look what we have built ... low-income projects that become worse centers of delinquency, vandalism and general social hopelessness than the slums they were supposed to replace.... Cultural centers that are unable to support a good bookstore. Civic centers that are avoided by everyone but bums.... Promenades that go from no place to nowhere and have no promenaders. Expressways that eviscerate great cities. This is not the rebuilding of cities. This is the sacking of cities.
    Jane Jacobs (b. 1916)
